before i go to bed . everyone please read this

lately ive been noticing how sad people are. and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being sad, everyone is sad once in a while. without sadness, we'd never truly know what happiness is right? what makes me sad is that people can get so sad that they want to take their own life. and even sadder than that, most of these people are so young. fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, not even reaching twenty years old and they're gone. never to get married, never to have kids, never to experience most of what life has to offer.
now im not saying life is rainbows and butterflies all the time. it's obviously not. you're gonna get thrown so many curveballs and you're going to have to go through so much in your life. but if you get caught up in all the sad things in your life and never move past them, how are you ever going to see the goodness and amazing things life has to offer? ill give you an example. my cousins recently had a baby and are pregnant with their next child. their baby died three months ago with a rare genetic disorder. she was five months old. my cousins now have to deal with mourning the loss of their child while preparing for another one, not knowing if this child will have the same genetic disease. if they can't move on from the loss, they will never know the full joy of having kids, and they are giving this opportunity with their new child.
anyway, i know some people have amazingly sad stories. some people truly do have to go through so much. and if that's you, i am truly sorry, but you need to see the good in life. the truth is, we all have the power to change our life.
has it ever occurred to you that you could change your life this very second if you wanted to? you could stand up and yell at your teacher if you really wanted to, you could place yourself in a life or death situation if you wanted, you could even take that risk and spontaneously and passionately kiss the one you love by surprise. we could change the entire outcomes of our lives, and if our lives are really as bad as we say they are, why wouldn't we take those chances?
all in all, im gonna be cliché, but it gets better. we have so much to live for, so much we can do with our lives. we can fall in love, we can travel the world, we can make memories. we can do so much, and it hurts me to see that people would throw away these opportunities we are given.
no matter what your religion is, we are on earth for a very short time. i think we should make this time memorable. when you die, do you want to look back at your life and say you had an amazing time and made fantastic memories? or do you want to say you were sad all the time? i know i want to say i did so many things ive always wanted to do and i met incredible people and made memories i can keep forever.
life is rough, life is sad, life makes you feel so horrible sometimes. but life can also make you feel so damn happy. life gives you so much, and we take it for granted. think about everything that makes you happy, think about all the people that care for you and love you, think about all you want to do and all you want to be.
so i take this pledge, and i ask you reading this to take it too: let's live our lives, and have the greatest possible time we can while doing it.
